The David Foster Foundation is excited to be a part of the 17th Annual Amanda’s Lemonade Stand this year! Amanda Belzowksi has raised more than $200,000 for multiple charities supporting children’s health. Amanda has now passed on the successful lemonade stand to her younger brother, Joshua, as she attends post secondary school in another city.

Joshua, a very intuitive nine-year-old, explained to his mother when he was three-years-old that when a child needs a new heart, doctors will go to their garden where heart flowers grow.  The Doctor will pick the best flower for the child who needs a new heart. Joshua’s early grasp and understanding of organ donation has left us completely inspired!

As young as Joshua is, he has the right idea! The David Foster Foundation and Amanda’s Lemonade, Joshified have joined forces this year to increase the awareness of the national need for organ donors.

On September 26, 2015 Joshua stood up in front of 2,000 spectators and publicly sponsored one family at the David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala & Concert. Josh’s generous donation will directly support Canadians families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants.

The David Foster Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing financial support for non-medical expenses to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants. In the past 28 years, the David Foster Foundation has assisted  close to 1,000 families with children in need of major organ transplants and provided much needed dollars in direct family support. In 2006, the Foundation became a national organization, expanding to help families across Canada. In addition to providing financial support to families, the foundation also strives to increase public awareness about the importance of becoming a registered organ donor.
