Fourteen year old musical powerhouse Jackie Evancho will join the list of performers at the star-studded David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala & Concert, presented by TELUS, held at the WestJet campus in Calgary, AB, on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.

First introduced to the North American audience on the popular America’s Got Talent at the age of 10, Evancho wowed the judges and the audience. This young soprano from Pittsburgh, PA continued through the competition, winning runner-up and launching her music career.

Now, at age 14, and on the heels of launching her third album, Awakening (available on iTunes), Evancho will join Foster in front of more than 700 guests of the Miracle Gala & Concert, which is held annually to help raise funds for the David Foster Foundation. The Foundation’s goal is to raise $30M by their 30th anniversary in 2017, with funds raised helping to financially support the non-medical expenses of families with children undergoing life-saving pediatric organ transplants.

From her first appearance on America’s Got Talent, Evancho’s career has continued to skyrocket. She released her first album in 2011, Dream With Me, which was produced by Foster, helping to kick off a long-standing relationship with the award-winning producer. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and was certified gold four weeks later. Her Christmas album, Heavenly Christmas, followed shortly thereafter, and was one of the top-selling holiday albums of that year.

Since 1986, the David Foster Foundation has assisted more than 1,000 Canadian families with children in need of major organ transplants, and provided millions of dollars in direct family support. In 2012, there were 3,404 patients waiting for organ transplants and only 1,168 patients who received transplants. During that time, 161 patients died while waiting for an organ. The Foundation’s financial commitment to families ranges from an average of $10,000 per year up to $100,000.

In addition to the performance by Evancho, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Sinbad will also join Foster at the gala. As always, Foster will have surprises throughout the evening, pulling from his long list of celebrity friends, creating a remarkable evening for supporters of the David Foster Foundation.
