Michael Ravenhill, CEO of the David Foster Foundation (DFF), is pleased to announce the appointment of John Danson as Senior Vice President, Fund Development, based in Toronto, Ontario.

His dedication over the years to health and wellness, and his reputation in Toronto for his tireless support for so many worthy causes make him an exceptional candidate to help lead our fundraising efforts for years to come.”
With its head office in Victoria (David Foster’s home town) the David Foster Foundation has assisted close to 800 Canadian families with children in need of lifesaving organ transplants and provided millions of dollars in direct family support. Despite these efforts, 285 Canadians died last year while waiting for a donor organ and 4,684 people are on the waiting list for an organ transplant. The David Foster Foundation wants to improve the outcomes for children who are fighting for their lives and ease the immense financial burden experienced by their families. The Foundation’s financial commitment to families ranges from $200 to well over $100,000. The average minimum cost to support a family is $10,000 per year, which can often span multiple years. This support has ranged from a one time financial request to a period as long as multiple years.
In his new role, Danson will be responsible for building the foundation’s major gifts program, ensuring the foundation continues its mission for generations to come. Danson’s previous position was VP, Business Development for the Cleveland Clinic Canada, an executive health care facility in Toronto and prior to that he was President of Creative Wellness Solutions, an organization staffed by retired Canadian Olympians dedicated to providing children, adults and companies with wellness programs specific to their needs.
Danson will be based out of the David Foster Foundation office within Aird & Berlis, LLP, a Toronto law firm that recently joined the David Foster Foundation as a national partner, donating office space and support.
