It is a beautiful spring in Victoria, B.C. and we know the residents are starting to Spring Clean!
The David Foster Foundation has partnered up with National Partner, Schnitzer Steel, and Used.ca to encourage residents on Vancouver Island to keep, sell, or scrap their household items through the free scrap metal donation bins at Schnitzer Steel or the #UsedHelps platform run by Used.ca. Scrap donations made through Schnitzer Steel donation bins or household donations sold through the #UsedHelp platform both will benefit the David Foster Foundation.
If Spring Cleaning isn’t your favourite activity, we recommend that you read “The lazy person’s guide to spring” by Used.ca HERE.
The question is, to keep, sell, or scrap?
Our recommendation is to dive items into three piles and the solutions to each pile are:
Simply dust off, fold, and put away until next year.
Don’t think you will use that vintage skateboard? No problem!
Head over to Used.ca, select your location and click “Place an Ad” tab. When prompted, make sure to click “YES” for the option to donate to a charity of your choice. This option will leave you feeling simply satisfied by accomplishing two things at once: selling something you do not need and donating to charity.
Have a broken bike? We can help with that!
Visit one of the two Vancouver Island Schnitzer Steel locations, either in Victoria or Duncan. Toss desired scrap into bin marked “David Foster Foundation”. For your convenience, these bins are available 24 hours a day! Leave knowing you have made more space in your garage and you are helping families of children going through the organ transplant process. Win win!
