November 29, 2016, we are celebrating Giving Tuesday, a worldwide movement that encourages – and reminds – us to think about giving back during the holiday shopping frenzy. From Black Friday and Small Business Saturday to Cyber Monday, the Tuesday that follows provides us with a time to reflect on how we can make a positive difference in the world.
This global movement includes more than 70 countries and brings individuals together across the world to celebrate giving and giving back. Show your commitment to making our communities, country, and the world a better place and explore the different ways you can give back this Giving Tuesday.
When it comes to supporting the cause of organ donation in Canada and the United States, there are many ways to give back. Whether you register as an organ donor (register here: http://bit.ly/DFFBeADonor) or financially support our work with transplant families, we thank you for your support.
This Giving Tuesday, and every other day, here are some ways to give back:
- Become an organ donor
- Donate Air Miles
- Donate RBC Rewards
- Gift arts & valuables
- Sponsor a Family
- Become a National Sponsor
- Planned Giving

The David Foster Foundation has teamed up with ORGANIZE, a non-profit that uses technology, open data, and insights from behavioural economics to simplify becoming an organ donor. Learn more about ORGANIZE in this New York Times article.
Although, 95% of Americans and Canadians support organ donation, less than 50% of Americans and less than 20% of Canadians are registered organ donors. A statistic far too low. Please help us make a difference this Giving Tuesday! Talk to your loved ones about your desire to become an organ donor, then tell the world on your social media how much you support organ donation by stating, “I am an #organdonor!”.
How are you going to celebrate giving this Tuesday?
