40th Anniversary Celebration Weekend

By Milk Creative Communications | Events, Events-homepage | 0 comment | 6 March, 2026 | 35

Welcome to the David Foster Foundation’s
40th Anniversary Celebration

Returning to the city where the Foundation’s story began, this milestone weekend will bring together friends, supporters, artists, and families for an extraordinary celebration of four decades of life-changing impact.

From elegant gala experiences and unforgettable musical performances to the beauty of the iconic Inner Harbour, every moment has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the legacy we have built together—and the countless lives forever changed because of it.

This celebration would not be possible without the remarkable generosity of our sponsors and donors, the leadership of our Honourary Co-Chairs, and the commitment of our Board of Directors, volunteers, staff, and event partners. Together, your support has helped thousands of Canadian families remain together during the organ transplant journey, creating hope when it is needed most.

In addition to our exclusive anniversary celebrations, the David Foster Foundation is proud to share this milestone with the community by presenting an appreciation concert in the Inner Harbour on Saturday, August 8, 2026. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike to an unforgettable evening of music and celebration as we honour 40 years of making a difference.

Click here to sign up to receive updates on the public concert, schedules, viewing information, and other exciting announcements as we count down to this milestone weekend.

We look forward to welcoming you to Victoria as we celebrate
40 years of changing lives, creating memories, and making a difference—one child at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I arrive?

There is no designated ticketed general admission area for the concert, and all public viewing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage guests to give themselves ample time to arrive, get settled, and find a viewing location before the concert begins.

Is the venue accessible for guests with mobility needs?

Yes. The concert site is wheelchair accessible, and a designated wheelchair accessible viewing area will be available on the Upper Causeway for guests with mobility needs. Please note there is a limited amount of wheelchair accessible seating, and availability will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Additional details, including the exact location and capacity of the accessible viewing area, will be shared closer to the event.

Will there be any road closures during the event?

To support event operations and ensure a safe experience for everyone, temporary road closures will be in place around the Inner Harbour.

  • Bellville St. from Menzies street to Government Street will be closed from 5:00am Friday August 7th – 12:00pm Sunday August 9th.

What should I bring to the concert?

We recommend bringing a blanket, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and anything else you need to stay comfortable throughout the evening.

There will be large LED screens in front of the Legislature Lawn and in front of the Fairmont Empress Hotel to enhance your viewing experience.

How can I get to the concert?

Guests are encouraged to walk, cycle, use public transit, or utilize taxi and rideshare services whenever possible. With large crowds expected and limited downtown parking available, choosing alternative transportation options will help ease congestion and support a more accessible and sustainable event experience for everyone.

  • Cycling – Guests arriving by bicycle can take advantage of a complimentary bike valet, operated by Capital Bike, located on the Legislative grounds off Government Street, offering secure bicycle parking throughout the event. In addition, all City of Victoria parkades provide free, covered bike parking, and bike racks are available throughout the event area, including at the Legislative Assembly and the Visitor Centre at Wharf Street and Government Street.
