We are proud to announce our new partnership with the WestJet Cares for Kids program. The WestJet Cares for Kids program was launched in March 2007 and currently supports eight national charities that work to improve children’s health and wellness.
WestJet has been an instrumental supporter of the David Foster Foundation for more than five years. We are so thankful for the gift of flights we have received. The flights have allowed us to fly children to their transplant medical appointments and fly family members to be by their child’s side during a time of need. We are so inspired by the spirit and culture of all of the WestJetters and are so proud to call them our partners.
By donating the gift of flight, WestJet assists in flying families whose children are going through the live-saving organ transplant process to their doctor appointments, transplant check-ups, or even reuniting a family! WestJetters give their energy and caring spirit everyday by providing a customized guest experience for children who have specialized medical requirements as well as by volunteering in their communities and hosting fundraising efforts.
If you are flying WestJet during the month of February, we encourage you to pick up one of our customized luggage tags! Please snap a picture and share it using the hashtag #WestJetLovesDFF.
On February 24, 2015 we will have a group of dedicated volunteers all across Canada at WestJet airport check-in counters raising awareness about the importance of becoming a registered organ donor. Many of these volunteers were recruited through the Canadian Transplant Association and BC Transplant and are recipients of a life-saving organ transplants. We cannot express our deepest appreciation to the individuals who have taken the time out of their day to support a cause that we are so passionate about.
Are YOU a registered organ donor? It is our goal to educate the importance of becoming a registered organ donor and encourage you to start the conversation with your friends and family.
